Alex Findlay is the perfect example of somebody who developed himself by taking an adult education course with Pitman Training to achieve his ambitions of getting a white-collar role. Formerly a warehouse worker, Alex was eager to take a different career path and decided to undergo Pitman’s Office Skills Diploma. Just weeks after completing his course, Alex landed a job with his local police station as a Case Administrator.

“I’m a very ambitious person and wanted more from life than just putting packages into lorries,” explained Alex. “I visited a local job fair on my day off from the warehouse, which, on reflection, was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Pitman Training had a stall there and, after approaching them, the team explained what they could do for me. However, I was keen to find out more, so I decided to visit the centre and get a taster of what Pitman had to offer first-hand.

“I was so impressed with the centre and the team that I decided to enrol on the Office Skills Diploma. After visiting the centre, I was so inspired by the people there and was made to feel that I could achieve my goals if I worked hard and focused on completing my Office Skills Diploma. Once I’d signed up for the course, I didn’t want to waste any time. I just wanted to get it done and start my new journey,” said Alex.
