About this course

This course has two distinct parts – HTML (Hypertext Markup Language), which includes HTML fundamentals, document structuring and multimedia presentations; and CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) which includes CSS fundamentals and styling webpages. 

Through online training sessions, led by an expert, you will learn the objectives required to progress and undertake the Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) 98-383 examination*. 

You work through the course at your own pace which enables you to take the time to ensure you have fully understood and absorbed each section. You will have access to pre/post test questions and interactive labs, all designed to maximise your learnings. 

There are five sessions within this course: 

Session 1 

Section A – Introduction: Course Welcome, How to Study for This Exam. 

Section B – Markup with Metadata, Script Tag, Noscript Tag, Link Tag, Meta Tags. 

Section C – Well-Formed Markup, DOCTYPE Declaration and HTML Tag, Head Tag, Body Tag, Closing Tags, Entities, Comments, Session 1 – Doman 1 Exam Tips. 

Session 2

Section A – Structure Content Through Markup: Table Tags, Table Attributes, Heading Tags, P Tag, Br Tag, Hr Tag, Div Tag, Span Tag, UI and Li Tags, Ol and Li Tags. 

Section B – Semantic HTML Elements: Header Tag, Nav Tag, Section Tag, Article and Aside Tags, Footer Tag, Details and Summary Tags, Figure Tag, Caption Tag. 

Section C – Navigation Elements: Image Links, The A Tag, Targets, Bookmarks, Relative vs. Absolute Links, Folder Hierarchy Navigation. 

Section D – Form Elements, Action and Method Attributes: Submission Methods, Accessibility, Input Types and Restrictions, Select Tag, Text area Tag, Button Tag, Output Tag, Option Tag, Datalist Tag, Fieldset Tag, Session 2 – Domain 3 Test Tips. 

Session 3 

Section A – Image, SVG and Canvas Elements: Add Images, Image Layouts, Image Links, Svg Tag, Canvas Tag. 

Session 4

Section A – Define Style Sheets: Inline, Internal and External Styles, Style Sheet Precedence. 

Section B – CSS Rule Sets: Valid Syntax, Apply Classes, Apply IDs, Apply Pseudo Classes. 

Section C – CSS Best Practices: Reusing Rules and Rule Sets, CSS Comments, Multiple Browser Tests, Web Safe Fonts, Session 4 – Domain 2 Exam Tips.

Session 5

Section A – Position Text with CSS: Height and Width, Max-Width Used with an Element, Float Positioning, Relative Positioning, Absolute Positioning, Overflow Settings, Alignment, Inline vs. Block, Visibility, Box Model Margins, Box Model Padding. 

Section B – Format Text with CSS: Font-Family, Colour, Font-Style, Font-Weight, Link Colours, Text-Alignment, Text-Decoration, Indentation. 

Section C – Backgrounds and Borders: Border-Colour, Border-Style, Border-Width, Backgrounds, Divs, Working with Colours. 

Section D – Responsive Layouts: Units of Measure, Viewport, Media Query, Percentages and Pixels, Frameworks and Templates, Max-Width Property, Session 5 – Domain 5 Exam Tips. 

Section E – Course Conclusion: Final Exam Tips, Final Thoughts.
