Pitman Training is not only highly respected in its own right, but our courses and diplomas are also accredited by a number of key bodies. These are listed below.

FETAC Awards

Pitman Training are delighted to confirm that all of our learning centres in Ireland have been approved and accredited by the Further Education Training and Awards Council (FETAC) to provide FETAC Awards. The Further Education and Training Awards Council (FETAC) is the national awarding body for further education and training in Ireland.  It was set up in 2001 by the Minister of Education and Science under the Qualifications (Education and Training) Act, 1999.  FETAC offers you the chance to further your education and at Pitman Training we provide exceptional training courses for you to gain excellent workplace skills and qualifications designed specifically to help you in the career you choose.  This applies whether you are starting from scratch in a new career area or continuing your training to develop skills in your current job.

Career Transition Partnership  

Career Transition Partnership (CTP) works with organisations to provide eligible Service Leavers with career transition services as part of their exit strategy from the armed forces. The Pitman Training network is now a preferred supplier of CTP and will offer flexible career path business and IT training programmes which gives the Service Leaver the skills they need to make the transition to civilian life.

City & Guilds

City & Guilds offers learners the chance to gain qualifications that equip them to fulfill their career ambitions - these qualifications are valued by employers – many are developed in conjunction with key industry bodies so they’re relevant and up to date. Many Pitman Training centres are registered City & Guilds examination centres to offer learners the chance to gain Medical Terminology qualifications.

CompTIA

CompTIA's vendor-neutral certifications are a great way to break into the information technology field because they provide a broad knowledge base and are not limited to only one product or company. Let Pitman Training help you achieve CompTIA certification.

ILA Scotland  

ILA Scotland is a Scottish Government scheme that helps you pay for learning that you can do at a time, place, pace and in a way to suit you. Up to £200 may be available towards the cost of learning subject to eligibility. Please call the Pitman Training centre of your choice (Aberdeen, Dumfries, Edinburgh, Forres or Glasgow) for more information.

ECDL

The European Computer Driving Licence® (ECDL) is the European-wide qualification which demonstrates competence in computer skills. Pitman Training centres offer ECDL, as it is a very well-recognised qualification which demonstrates your computing abilities to current (or future) employers . No prior knowledge of IT or computer skills is needed to study the ECDL.

IAB (International Association of Book-keepers)

Most Pitman Training Centres are registered IAB examination centres to enable students to progress to take examinations in manual and computerised book-keeping. The IAB, which was established in 1973, is the longest established professional book-keeping body. It is committed to maintaining the highest standards in book-keeping, and holds its examinations in over 90 countries worldwide.  AAT exemptions apply for some IAB Level 2 qualifications.

ISO9001 

ISO 9001 is the most commonly used international standard that provides a framework for an effective Quality Management System to help improve customer satisfaction levels, internal efficiency and employee involvement.  Pitman Training Group ltd is audited annually for this kite mark.

Gain key skills with our innovative touch-typing courses - they will help you increase your speed and accuracy. You can achieve a Pitman Training certificate or the nationally recognised BCS touch-typing qualification.

UCLan

Pitman Training has worked successfully with the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) for a number of years. Someone who successfully completes Pitman Training's Management Professional Diploma (NQF) can be considered for entry to a UCLan degree programme.

University of Stirling

Pitman Training has worked successfully with the University of Stirling for a number of years. Someone who successfully completes Pitman Training's Management Professional Diploma (NQF) can be considered for entry to one of their degrees.

ITEC

ITEC is the largest international examination board offering a variety of qualifications worldwide.  Pitman Training Centres are registered to run the Level 3 Business Competence unit examination.

OCR (Oxford Cambridge and RSA examination board)

The majority of Pitman Training Centres are OCR registered.  Students are therefore able to progress to take OCR examinations in a variety of subject areas.

Microsoft Certified Partner

The Microsoft Partner Program recognises a company’s expertise, rewards for its impact in the technology marketplace and delivers tools and resources to help the business become profitable regardless of its size or focus. Pitman Training has achieved the following competencies:

Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS)

Microsoft Office courseware produced by Pitman Training follows the relevant Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) syllabus. Students may take a MOS test after successfully completing one of our Microsoft courses. The MOS certification is recognised internationally and it proves to any organisation that the student has reached a high level of working knowledge in the specified application.

Microsoft IT Academy

The Microsoft IT Academy program enables academic learning institutions to connect the world of education to the world of work by enabling faculty and students to acquire new technology skills in an academic setting.
