Faster Keyboarding Part 1
Designed for:
Secretaries and other individuals for whom typing is a major part of their job role.
Prerequisites:
Ability to touch-type at around 20 wpm. Ideally students should have completed the Computer Keyboard Skills course.
Objectives: To increase keyboarding speed to a minimum of 35 wpm by the end of the course.
Course Content
- Lesson One – Including: Speed development exercises. Calculating typing speed. Keying in at 20 – 25 wpm. Basic word processing functions. Punctuation rules.
- Lesson Two – Including: Speed development exercises. Correcting errors and navigation keys. Keying in at 25 – 30 wpm. Business memo layout.
- Lesson Three – Including: Speed development exercises. Business letter layout and keying in at 30 – 35 wpm. Importance of accurate copy.
- Lesson Four – Including: Speed development exercises. Preparing the minutes of a meeting. Keying in at 35 – 40 wpm and keying in at an accurate pace.
- Lesson Five – Including: Speed development exercises. Business letter layout and business memo layout. Keying in at 40 – 45 wpm.
