Hello
I was absolutely delighted when Pitman told me I had been selected as their Bursary competition winner for Galway as part of ‘Go Get That Job Week’. I am looking forward to working hard with the challenges this course will provide and to achieve new skills. I am grateful again for this opportunity as in this climate of recession we have to push ourselves forward to fulfil our dreams.
Blog Update - 4 January 2012
Hi everybody
I am studying the Medical Secretary Course in Galway on a part-time basis, which is great. I started working on Microsoft Word 2010 module on the 21 November 2011. I have been provided with a workbook which I follow as I listen to the audio instructions on the computer. It helps to study the lessons in the book before working through them on the computer. I have now reached Lesson Eight of ten in the module. I have found the lessons easy to work through with the help of the Audio.
It is very helpful to be able to repeat the audio instructions where you might not have grasped the full meaning on the first occasion. At the end of each lesson there are exercises which are beneficial in helping you to recap on what you have been learning and practising during the lesson.
One of the core subjects of this course is Keyboard Speed Development. Pitman provides this through Typaz online which teaches touch typing accurately and also helps to improve speeds. The advantage of this online access is that I can practise typing from home. Typaz online provides lessons using colour, sound & creative background which makes it a more enjoyable experience for anyone learning to type.
I am looking forward to taking up where I left off over the Christmas period and wish everybody the best for the New Year.
